La Bambola
*La Bambola* is a pop-dreamlike fresco dedicated to women and the female stereotypes that shape the value system of our social habits — a parade of female characters inspired by iconic women from our cultural history such as Barbie, Beyoncé, Nina Simone, Wonder Woman, and Juliet. On stage, the bodies of two women move through different emotional states, embodying at once fragility, strength, tenderness, fear, aggression, and desire — a hymn to courage and the desire "to be." "I am not a single woman or a single man; I am at once many women and many men. I am places, animals, cities, villages, families, memories, emotions, objects, and people I know — but I am also realities unknown to me, unexplored and unseen, which my imagination reaches, revealing identities of the past, present, and future." Francesca LettieriLa Bambola is a production created as part of the special project Woman Made, dedicated to the female universe and funded as a special project by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MIC). The show has been presented in many Italian theaters and on an international tour in Israel, Greece, and Mexico, where it was re-staged in an expanded version featuring 20 performers on stage.
